During the webinar, Mr. Al Shahrani introduced guests to the TAMM Network for Volunteering, noting that the network contributes to building a database of volunteers and connecting volunteer pioneers with establishments/volunteering opportunities across the State of Qatar. It also looks into offering technical support and building the capacities of youth in keeping with the demands of volunteering work.

Mr. Al Shahrani encouraged students to volunteer, whether through TAMM or through other initiatives, noting that volunteer work brings about many benefits, both in doing good deeds and feeling positive, and also in terms of building life skills, and experiencing new jobs.

It is worth noting that QU supports and encourages volunteer work including several courses such as the Leadership, Innovation and Civic Engagement (UNIV 200) course and the Community Service Learning (UNIV 220), which is a form of experiential learning that integrates academic study with hands-on meaningful community service activities and structured reflection.

The Core Curriculum Program at QU offers a common academic experience that binds students from diverse disciplines together. Through a student-centered approach, and a careful selection of courses, the program aims to cultivate a range of skills, knowledge, values and dispositions needed for academic success, intellectual growth, and responsible citizenship. The ultimate goal is to prepare well-rounded and engaged graduates who are able to bring about positive change in Qatar and beyond.
