Editorial overview: Introduction to the musculoskeletal section of current opinion in pharmacology

Dr. Cardozo is professor of medicine and of rehabilitation medicine and human performance at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and director of the pre-clinical program of the Spinal Cord Damage Research Center at James J Peters VA Medical Center. His research interests include improving muscle function, reversing osteoporosis, and maximizing the innate capacity of the nervous system to recover after spinal cord injury.

Dr. Helen Bramlett is a professor of neurological surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as well as a research health scientist at the Bruce W. Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Bramlett is an internationally recognized scientist with over 25 years of experience in the field of CNS injury including the pathophysiology and treatment of traumatic brain and spinal cord injury as well as stroke.
