Editorial overview: evolutionary genetics: how a tiny model system enables big discoveries

Dr Christian Landry holds the Canada Research Chair in Cellular Systems and Synthetic Biology at Université Laval. His laboratory studies the organization and evolution of biological systems using experimental and computational tools, ranging from the origin and fate of duplicated genes to drug resistance and protein-protein interactions.

Dr. Gianni Liti is a CNRS researcher at the Institute for Research on Cancer and Ageing of Nice (IRCAN). His team uses population genomics and laboratory experiments to understand patterns of genetic variation and their impact in regulating quantitative phenotypes.
