Immunohistochemistry of COVID-19 skin

This is an acrylic painting inspired by the immunohistochemistry stains of the epidermis and dermis of patients with COVID-19. COVID-19 comes with a variety of dermatological conditions, including some that are pruritic. The immunohistochemistry stains depicted here stain for transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily A member 1 and mas-1-related G-protein coupled receptor, receptors believed to be involved in the transmission of itch.
