Koya University Signs a Partnership Agreement with Pinnacle Teaching Solutions

Koya University & Pinnacle Teaching SolutionsOn Sunday, September 25, 2022, Koya University and the American-based educational organization Pinnacle Teaching Solutions signed a partnership agreement at a special singing ceremony held at Koya University. The agreement was signed by Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana and The Pinnacle Teaching Solutions Country Director for Iraq Mr. Tim Knoespel.

The Signing of the partnership agreement is part of Koya University and University President’s efforts to internationalize the university and develop exchange programs in partnership with international academic institutions and organizations.

According to the agreement, as an initial step, Pinnacle Teaching Solutions will provide four professional native-English speaking teachers to both the English Department (DENG), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences(FHSS), and The English Department(DNEL), Faculty of Education(FEDU).

The singing agreement ceremony was attended by  a number of Koya University officials including Director of Public Relations Dr. Hawkar Bapeer Bakir, Head of the English Department(DNEL) Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Mohammad, Head of the English Department (DENG)- Morning Class  Mr. Hana Mohammed Smail, Head of the Department of English Language (DENG)-Evening Class Ms. Arazoo Rashid Othman, and Director of Media and Communication Mr. Muhammed Karim Saedgul, and several Pinnacle Teaching Solutions staff members  including Dr. Chris Ratcliff, Dr. Nikki Ratcliff, Mr. Kenton Krestign, and  Ms. Jessica Shier.

It is worth mentioning that Pinnacle Teaching Solutions has been partnering with universities since 1981. At first, it partnered with Chinese universities and trained over 75000 Chinese teachers by 1985. Later on, they started forming partnerships with local and national educational authorities in many other countries to provide English language teachers and train local staff.

Koya University (KOU) is located in the city of Koya (Koy Sanjaq) which is 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. Moreover, at KOU there is an English Language Center (BELC) at KOU has been opened with the sponsorship of IREX and American embassy in Baghdad as well as with the support of Spring International Language Center of The University of ArkansasKOU has two Scientific Journals; ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University, which is indexed by Clarivate Analytics (ESCI), and Koya University Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (KUJHSS). KOU is a proactive member of Erasmus/ Marhaba Project and Erasmus+. KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UKThe University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UKCihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021). Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
