The Pinnacle Teaching Solutions country director for Iraq, Mr. Tim Knoespel, accompanied by Ms. Jessica A. Shier, visited Koya University on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The delegation met with Koya University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Haseeb Zangana and a number of university community members including Director of Public Relations Dr. Hawkar Bapeer Bakir, Head of the Department of English Education (DENL) Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Mohammad, Head of the Department of English Language (DENG) Mr. Hana Mohammed Smail, and Director of Media and Communication Mr. Muhammed Karim Saedgul.

During the meeting, Mr. Knoespel gave an overview of the organization's history, mission and experience working with academic institutions across the world including Iraq and Kurdistan Region, and discussed his organization's readiness to partner with Koya University to help the university create more English language learning opportunities for its students and the staff.

After that, the University President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed mentioned that seeking out opportunities to promote internationalization and cultural exchange is a part of Koya University’s strategic plan, and expressed his support to develop a mutually-beneficial partnership between Koya University and Pinnacle Teaching Solutions.

The two sides agreed to have further meetings and discussions to lay the groundwork for the possibility of entering into a partnership agreement.

KOU signed many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with many International Universities, e.g., The University of Arkansas (June 2015). The Lulea University in Sweden (April 2014), The University of Nottingham in the UK, The University of Buckingham in the UK (Oct 2008), Belkin University in Turkey (Sep 2009) The University of Greenwich in the UK, Cihan University-Erbil (2021) and Tishk International University (2021). Koya University is a memebr of The Association of Arab Universities and the International Association of Universities.
