As the American Journal of Dance Therapy is the official publication of the American Dance Therapy Association, the co-editors are thoroughly vetted before an appointment is offered by the Board of Directors. While the Journal is currently published twice per year, we recognize it is a significant undertaking and we are thankful for our past co-editors.
Due to the pandemic and racial unrest, the past two years have not only been a time of transition for the ADTA leadership and members, but also a time of transition for the Journal. As a result, the Board was tasked with seeking recommendations for new Journal co-editors and it gives me great pleasure to welcome Dr. Thania Acarón and Aisha Bell Robinson.
Both Thania and Aisha are highly invested in the on-going publication of innovative scholarship as it pertains to dance/movement therapy. They are equally committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and expanding the international reach of the Journal. Their first collaborated Journal publication is focused on the “dance” in dance/movement therapy which I am excited to read.
I hope that you will join me in welcoming and celebrating Thania and Aisha as they curate Journal publications that highlight the limitlessness of our dynamic profession!
