With over 30 years of experience, Ron has held various positions within the US Department of Energy complex, environmental restoration sites, radioanalytical laboratories, nuclear facilities, and research facilities throughout the country. Since 2002, Ron has served as the Director of Environmental, Health, & Safety at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and is the Radiation Safety Officer, Biosafety Officer, Laser Safety Officer, and Lead Emergency Coordinator. Ron is experienced in all environmental, health, and safety disciplines, emergency management, enterprise risk management, quality management, organizational resilience, project management, program management, systems integration, and continual improvement. Ron is active with the American Industrial Hygiene Association, serving on the Ionizing Radiation Committee (secretary, vice-chair, chair), PDC instructor, presenter, and technical reviewer of conference proposals. Ron has numerous peer-reviewed publications in the areas of radiofrequency radiation, lasers, ionizing radiation, industrial ventilation, and machine shop safety. Ron has a B.S. and M.S. in Radiological Sciences/Applied Physics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and an M.S. in Environmental and Waste Management from State University of New York at Stony Brook. Ron is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Health Physicist (CHP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). His email is [email protected].
