The influence of the dietary exposome on oxidative stress in pregnancy complications

Jelmer R Prins is an obstetrician-scientist and works at the University Medical Center Groningen. His research focuses on immune-mediated pregnancy complications. He has extensive experience in analysis of immune parameters in pregnancy, including characterization of blood, placental and uterine lymphocytes, and is involved in several translational pregnancy studies within the UMCG.

Mirthe H Schoots is a pathologist and works at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her regions of interest are fetal and placental pathology, neuropathology and autopsy-related pathology. Her current research focuses on fetal growth restriction, placental pathology and placental oxidative stress.

Jule I Wessels is a physician with an interest in obstetrics and dietary interventions.

Marjo J E Campmans-Kuijpers is a post-doctoral researcher, clinical epidemiologist and research dietician-with a special focus on diet in IBD. She has developed the Groningen anti-inflammatory diet (GrAID) for IBD patients, which is currently being investigated in the Vita-GrAID trial.

Gerjan J Navis is a nephrologist and professor in nephrology and diet. Her research focusses on diet and kidney diseases.

Harry van Goor is Professor in Experimental Renal Pathology with a PhD in Medical Sciences. His current research focusses on the systemic Redox status as moveable biomarker in various disease conditions. He also works on gasotransmitters like hydrogen sulfide with the aim to use these as therapeutical options in experimental and clinical conditions.

Sarah A Robertson is Professor of Reproductive Immunology at the Robinson Research Institute, University of Adelaide, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and Australian Academy for Health and Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on the biological mechanisms of immune tolerance in conception and pregnancy.

Eline M van der Beek obtained her doctoral degree at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. She did a postdoc at Wageningen University, after which she stayed as an Assistant Professor before moving to the food industry. She is currently appointed as Professor in Nutritional Programming at the Pediatric Department of the University Medical Centre in Groningen, the Netherlands, next to her role as Head of the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her research focuses on the contribution of maternal health and nutrition status in offspring growth and development.

Luis Sobrevia is a BSc in biological sciences holding an MSc in Physiological Sciences from the Universidad de Concepción (Chile), a PhD in Physiology and Medical Sciences and postdoctoral training in vascular physiology King's College London from University of London (UK). His research line regards human vascular endothelial dysfunction in diseases of pregnancy involving cell signalling through adenosine receptors and insulin receptors and the role of membrane transport systems in this phenomenon.

Sanne J Gordijn is an obstetrician. She is involved in standardisation in the defining FGR and structuring research protocol by development of a minimum reporting set and a core outcome set. She is cofounder and project leader of a large multicentre RCT: DRIGITAT considering SGA and the role of Doppler indices. She started a large worldwide collaboration of pathologists that resulted in an important, widely acknowledged placental definition paper and recently an authoritative textbook of placental disorders. Dr Gordijn is involved in placental translational research to understand and influence the pathophysiological background of common obstetric conditions, mainly focussed on FGR.
