Editor’s note: This month’s Letter from the Editor is written by Rebecca Owens, a nurse and daughter of Dr. Eric Cassell who died in 2021 and was a pioneer in the field of palliative care with his greatest contributions often recognized in the area of suffering. Her editorial is a reminder of Dr Cassell’s many contributions and influence on the practice of nursing.
